Krista Monique McClellan is a Brazilian-American lyric soprano from Washington, DC. She has performed leading roles including Dido (Dido & Aeneas); Donna Anna (Don Giovanni); Lucy (The Telephone) and Giulietta (Les Contes d'Hoffmann). Recently, she performed at the Embassy of Germany in Washington, DC as part of the Emerging Singers Program of the Wagner Society of Washington. She is a frequent recitalist and has performed numerous concerts throughout the United States and Brazil.

In April of 2011, Krista won 2nd Place (Female) and the Prize for Best Interpreter of Mozart in the 10º Concurso Brasileiro de Canto Maria Callas in São Paulo, Brazil. Out of more than 200 applicants, Krista was selected as one of 12 finalists in the Concurso Internacional de Canto Bidú Sayão in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.

Krista has coached with Simon Estes, Claude Corbeil and Jerry Hadley at Boston University, where she graduated with her Bachelor of Music in 2009. She is an alumna of the OperaWorks Emerging Artist Program, the AIMS Opera Studio (Graz, Austria) and the Boston University Tanglewood Institute. In 2010, Krista became the youngest member of the Wagner Society of Washington.

She studies with David Jones and coaches with Evelyn Lear and Bill Hicks.
